Frequently Asked Questions

I’m anxious about starting therapy. What can I expect?

Starting therapy can be very anxiety provoking. You can expect a warm, supportive environment where you are able to express whatever you need to. During the initial consultation, we will discuss any anxiety that you may have about getting started.

How do I know if I need therapy?

The reason to begin therapy will look different for everyone. Some people choose to seek therapy to receive support while making a life decision; others seek therapy to deal with overwhelming stress.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy follows a similar format of traditional face-to-face therapy but is delivered via a secure video platform. During an online therapy session, we will access a private therapy room and utilize video capabilities to communicate. Online therapy provides all of the benefits of traditional therapy PLUS flexible scheduling and convenience of conducting sessions from home. Read more here.

I don’t think I’ll like online therapy. Can I be seen in person?

At this time, we only offer online therapy. Online therapy is similar to using FaceTime, Duo, or any other video chat service. Click here to learn more about online therapy and how it works.

Are our sessions private?

The therapy room is our private space to connect and engage in full transparency. Confidentiality is strictly mandated. There are rare circumstances, however, where confidentiality is void: detailed plans to harm self and/or others, future/past child/elder harm, and some legal mandates.

Confidentiality will be thoroughly discussed during the intake session.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we are not in network with insurance companies. Sessions can be paid for using any major credit card. Some insurance plans allow for participants to submit invoices for reimbursement. Read more here.

How long will I be in therapy?

Everyone’s journey in therapy looks different. The length of time is influenced by therapy goals, reasons for seeking therapy, as well as session frequency. Some clients are ready to end therapy after 6 sessions while others feel more comfortable with discharge after 18 sessions.

How often will sessions be?

Each client will receive an individualized, custom treatment plan. Together, we will decide how frequent sessions need to be. Most people choose to have weekly sessions initially and as they progress, they move to bi-weekly.

My work/school schedule is busy. Do you offer after-hours appointments?

Yes! We offer flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends. Online therapy was created with busy people in mind. With online therapy, there is no commute time. Grab your computer, tablet, or phone and log in a few minutes before your appointment—it’s that simple!

Invest in yourself.
